Hi! My name is Alyssa Molina, I am 9 years old and I live in North Tonawanda, New York (near where Maura Aunty grew up acutally). Let me tell you how much I love sports. One of my favorite sports is basketball.
My school had a hoop-shoot competition. You had to get as many baskets as you could out of 20 shots. I got 17 shots out of 20 and won in my age division. I qualified for the next round which included all the kids who had won their school hoop-shoot competitions. All my family came to cheer me on and guess what? I wasn't even nervous. I placed 1st in this round and got a trophy -- my very first trophy ever!
This success took me off to Batavia, New York for the Regional Hoop-shoot Competition. Now I was really nervous -- the competition was stiff. I tied for 3rd place and had to face off my opponent for "best out of 5 shots." The pressure was too intenseŠI only made 1 out of 5 shots and came in 4th place. My brother Mike says, " too bad, so sad", but I'm just thinking ahead and practicing for next year's competition!
