The sweetest kid I ever beheld
Is a resident at Mustard Seeds, He's always smiling, playing with Koel, Or scraping the skin off his chubby knees. The kid was born in October, Though I saw him first in May, Since then, he has blossomed wonderfully, -- Growing bigger every day! One day he was found on his belly, The next, he turned on his back, Then he smiled, and then he laughed, Now he's walking around the race track! He has round, pink cheeks that get plumper when he smiles, His deep brown eyes are shining stars, He's a darling for whom you'd travel miles, At Mustard Seeds his fans are not sparse Pretty little Bapuji -- With joy you do abound, We love you so when you're right here, We'll miss you when you're not around! - Sukhaloka Mukherjee, Age 12 Kolkata ![]() Swimming slowly through the sea, Easy-going, mishap free. Fishes swimming here and there, But I've no need to come up for air. Bulky gear, heavy on land, Weighs as much as a grain of sand. Anemones, seaweed, coral and fish, A photographer's dream, what more could one wish? Swimming slowly, through the sea, Scuba diving, that's for me. - By Ivan De Groote, Age 12 Massachusetts (USA) ![]() I came to Vidyasagar Niketan all aloneBut my group of friends has grown and grown For when on the shelves I put some good books The kind neighbours and children came for looks Parents also felt very differentThey sent with their kids all kinds of tiffin This house was never lonely anymore There was always someone knocking at the door When there are people who care like the ones here do You know that dark skies will always turn back to blue I've learned so much, I've eaten great food You certainly are the very best Bengali brood!
