Character Creation |
There are a few character creation
sites out there, but none of them (in my own opinion,
anyway) are easy to understand, and almost as few are
very understandable. So, I have decided to
create my own site, one which holds all the rules for
creating a Vampire: The Masquerade (tm) character.
NOTE: I do not believe in the rules
used in 3rd Edition. I do not like the storyline
either, but I do not use ANYTHING 3rd Edition on this
page. So, if you need that information, I
apologize, but I cannot help you.
If anyone sees anything that I have
missed, or made a mistake on, please E-mail
me immediately so that I can correct the mistakes
immediately. And, most importantly...
HAVE FUN! |
|
The site has been separated into the main
areas of creation, for easier access. These areas are
listed below.
Point Spread |
Do you already know how to make
a character, but just need to know something about
points, such as what the Freebie Point/Experience Point
transfer for Disciplines is, or how many starting points
you get in your Backgrounds? Well you can find all
that right here. |
Concept |
You can't make a character
unless you know what you're going to do with them,
right? Well here's a little background on the
World of Darkness to help you out. |
Name |
Now that you know WHAT you
want to do, how to figure out WHO to make your character
is a big question. Here is some suggestions, as
well as a few links to some name sites. |
Sects |
There are three major sects in the World
of Darkness. Here is some information about all
three. |
Clans |
Most likely, you already know
what clan you want, if you've gotten to this point, but
in many cases, a concept can work for MANY clans.
So, here is a breakdown on all the clans. |
Natures and
Demeanors |
You have the concept, and so
now you just have to figure out your character's
instinctive way of behaving. IE his Nature. |
Generation |
How far are you from Caine?
How powerful is your blood? This is all very
important to your character and your concept, so here's
some information on what everything means. More is
mentioned in the Backgrounds section under
"Advantages." |
Attributes |
This is the physical, mental,
and social section of your character creation. How
good is your character in these areas? Is he
muscle-bound, or is he a brainiac? Or maybe he's a
socialite. Here is how to choose that. |
Abilities |
Now that you know what your
character's strengths are, you can choose the things
that he can do best. Does he drive like Mario
Andretti? Does he fight like Bruce Lee? Or
should he be a doctor on ER? Here's how to find
out. |
Secondary
Abilities |
Not always listed in the
books, secondary abilities are not always necessary, but
can be a lot of fun to have. |
Advantages |
This section is actually three
part. Disciplines, Backgrounds, and Virtues.
All three are listed in here, but separated to make the
page easier to view. |
Final Point
Spread |
This is an overall section on
how to use this very broad sections of character
creation. Willpower, Humanity, Paths, and Blood
Pool are within. |
Merits and Flaws |
Another non-necessary, but very
fun section of the game. How to choose those
little quirks that make your character more... real. |
Finishing
Touches |
Now it's time to make sure
you've gotten everything. Mostly, this includes
using Freebie Points, and writing up the history of your
character, but also includes the little details that
make having a character in the World of Darkness so much
fun. |
Useful
Vocabulary |
What is an Antediluvian?
What does it mean to control The Beast? What does
it mean to Botch a roll? Here's a few pages to
help you with the terms of the game. |
