Attributes

This is the physical, mental, and social section of your character creation.  How good is your character in these areas?  Is he muscle-bound, or is he a brainiac?  Or maybe he's a socialite.  Here is how to choose that.

NOTE: I do not believe in the rules used in 3rd Edition.  I do not like the storyline either, but I do not use ANYTHING 3rd Edition on this page.  So, if you need that information, I apologize, but I cannot help you.

If anyone sees anything that I have missed, or made a mistake on, please E-mail me immediately so that I can correct the mistakes immediately.  Thank you, and enjoy.

For this section, you are given a certain number of points to start.  Each attribute starts with one dot already filled in.  Choose which of the three is most important to your character.  This will be the Primary attribute.  Then choose which would be the next most important, and this is your Secondary attribute.  The remaining one will be your Tertiary attribute.  You are given 7 points to put into your Primary, 5 to put into your Secondary, and only 3 in your Tertiary.

Below is a table of what Attributes go into what category.  Click on each individual Attribute to learn more about them.

Physical Social Mental
Strength The measure of physical strength: the ability to lift, carry, and cause physical harm. Charisma A measure of one's aptitude for enticing and fascinating others. Perception How aware one is of the environment around them.
Dexterity The measure of general physical prowess: speed, quickness and agility. Manipulation The aptitude for active self-expression, such as when one wants to get someone else to do something. Intelligence Both one's memory and their ability to learn and think.
Stamina A measure of general health and resistance to pain; it indicates how long one can continue to exert themselves, as well as how much physical punishment one can sustain. Appearance The appearance of one's self, in terms of one's attractiveness and force of presence. Wits The ability to react quickly and correctly to new situations, as well as the overall sharpness of mind and cleverness.

For example, Viktor Korrigann is a Gangrel (fighters, storytellers, wanderers of the world, you could say).  He was a German Hessian in the time of the American Revolution, and after his Embrace, wandered the world as both hunter and explorer.  He is strong, fast, and always aware of his surroundings at all times.  Korrigann would most likely have Physical as his Primary Attribute, Mental as his Secondary Attribute, and Social as his Tertiary Attribute.  It would start out looking like this:

Physical Social Mental

Now, for these points, he's been allotted 7 points for his Primary Attribute, which we've decided to be Strength, 5 points for his Secondary Attribute, which we've decided to be Mental, leaving 3 points for Social Attributes.  Depending on how you want him to be in each individual area, you can place these points as you will.  For instance, if you wanted him to be ok in strength, but VERY fast, and pretty sturdy, as well as very aware, but not extremely bright, you could place the points like this:

Physical Social Mental
Strength Charisma Perception
Dexterity Manipulation Intelligence
Stamina Appearance Wits

Note that the Social Attributes only gained one new point a piece.  This could easily be rearranged, depending on if you wanted them to be less in one area, and more in another.  The best way to figure this out is decide what your character should have, and experiment.  You can always add more later with Freebie Points.

For more of a description of the Points, go to the section labeled "Point Spread."
