Names

Now that you know WHAT you want to do, how to figure out WHO to make your character is a big question.  Here is some suggestions, as well as a few links to some name sites.

NOTE: I do not believe in the rules used in 3rd Edition.  I do not like the storyline either, but I do not use ANYTHING 3rd Edition on this page.  So, if you need that information, I apologize, but I cannot help you.

If anyone sees anything that I have missed, or made a mistake on, please E-mail me immediately so that I can correct the mistakes immediately.  Thank you, and enjoy.

What is in a name?  Sure, you could always name your character John Smith or Jane West, and be done with it, but, all in all, a name is how your character will be remembered by all the other characters and NPCs that they run into.  And a name like Amena Lorelai, or Viktor Korrigann, or even something as American as Matt Douglas will make a much better impression upon people.

One of the best things to do is think of your character saying that name, and seeing if it feels right.  A big, tough fighter would probably not seem as tough with a name like Leslie or Pierre, while using the name Ox for a small, spindly guy just doesn't work.

Some people also like to use meanings in names.  Take Amena Lorelai, for instance.  The character is a Malkavian with a split personality.  Her base Nature is Child, but her other self acts just like a Ventrue Prince.  Amena is a Celtic name meaning "Honest Woman," while Lorelai is a French name meaning "Seductress."  The correlation of her name to who and what she is helps with her character creation and with her roleplaying.

In the end, it is up to you.
