Astronomers have discovered dozens of planets orbiting stars other than the Sun. We know of many more planets outside our solar system than inside.
The Planets comprise of the inner terrestrial 'rocky' worlds; namely, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, the gas giants (Jovian worlds); namely, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, and the tiny ice covered planet, Pluto.
