Ritual is the enactment of myth under a highly structured situation. The object of the ritual is personal transformation, bringing the worshipper in harmony with the divine. Myth is the story, the plot; ritual the experience. Much of the power of myth lies in it's universal quality, it's timelessness, so that each reenactment is experienced as the first time. This is the key to its transformative power.

Oh Lilith, Mother of Life, Mistress of the Dark, Demon of Desire, breathe thy fire upon my soul and make of it a burning ground, upon which thou may dance thy dance of eternal of power, and from whose ashes I may arise, seared of what I was, cleansed of what I am, and a spark of what I might become!
