Q&A with Luke
Describe yourself as a basketball player in under 30 words:
I'd describe myself on the court as passionate, team oriented with a desire to contribute on both the defensive and offensive ends. I love shooting the 3-ball, but don't believe I try and do as much as I can offensively, due to the fact the Hulkamaniacs have a lot of offensive options.
How long have you been playing basketball?
Since I was a little tacker, so I'd guess close to 15 years with just a few breaks in between.
How did you find out about, and eventually come to joining the Hulkamaniacs?
When my former team, the Manny's, dispanded, my brother and I went a season or two on the sidelines. But the desire was still there. Along with my brother Adam, my mates Phill S and Jayson and some of Adam's work colleagues at the time, the Hulkamaniacs were born, and subsequently so was this website. I guess you could call me the instigator of the whole thing.
What's been your favourite game and/or career highlight as a "Hulkamaniac"?
Personally speaking, I couldn't go past the night I scored 19 points against the Hornets, in season 2003. Just had one of those nights, I guess.
From a team point of view, do any wins stand out?
I believe to this day, that the best game we've played as a team was our win over the Buddies, in season 2003/04. The Buddies were basically the best team going around at the time, and we were the "up-and-comers" of the division. We'd never beaten them before, in 5 attempts. It was a great, physical match. We scraped home by a few points, and our defense was superb all night.
That was the night the basketball world had to stop and recognise the Hulkamaniacs as a force to be reckoned with.
Your most disappointing Hulkamaniacs moment?
Easily when we were bundled out of the 2003/04 finals face against Phoenix. We played a solid first half, with our defense (as usual) the stand-out. We let it slip in the opening minutes of the second half, and just couldn't get back into it after that.
Do you play any other sports?
I try and play golf whenever I can, but haven't had much of an opportunity to do so this year. Once the weather warms up I really want to get back into it.
Your favourite NBA team and/or player?
Tough question. Like many others, I was always a Chicago Bulls fan - probably because my brother would have killed me if I supported any other team. These days, it would have to be the Memphis Grizzlies.
If
I had to choose, my favourite player would be Chris Webber of the 76'ers.
I've followed him from team to team ever since draft day.

If you could draft one player from any league to suit up with the Hulkamaniacs, who would it be?
I'd take Pau Gasol, from the Memphis Grizzlies - currently right up there with Chris Webber as my favourite player.

Gasol would give the Hulkamaniacs a serious inside low-post presence, not to mention that much needed shot blocker and intimidator. More importantly, he also runs the floor better than any big man in the league, making him a perfect fit with the Hulkamaniacs.
