Hulkamaniacs open season in style, with 34-point victory.

The Hulkamaniacs have put a substandard Grand Final performance behind them, and have steamrolled their way to an emphatic 34-point opening night victory against Silence.
Silence were finding their way early, facing a difficult task coming up against a team that went agonisingly close to their first division 2 title.
Four weeks away from basketball appeared to be having an effect early on the Hulkamaniacs, as Silence were finding a way to stay close to their opponents. However, the Hulkamaniacs found their feet towards the end of the first half, capturing the form that took them to a franchise record 8 consecutive wins throughout the 2004/05 season.
With literally every player making a contribution to the scoresheet in the first half, the Hulkamaniacs had built a more than handy 13-point lead by half-time (29-16).
The first half was highlighted by the Hulkamaniacs getting out on the break at every opportunity, whilst Silence were made to work their baskets in a more traditional half court game. And much to the Hulkamaniacs liking, the game really opened up in the second half.
The Hulkamaniacs, led by Beau, Adam and Phil C, continued to pile on the points in the second half - with the question mark over the result quickly being removed, replaced by the question "by how much?".
Silence were still quite competitive, but simply allowed the Hulkamaniacs too much latitude in the open court - a recipe for disaster with the likes of Phil C, Beau and Murray able to run the court with the best of them. Silence added 17 points in the second half, not that surprising given the match had opened up drastically compared to the first half. The Hulkamaniacs meanwhile, added 38 points of their own.
The final score was 67 to 33.
Leading scorers for the Hulkamaniacs were Beau with 18, Adam 14, Phil C 12, Murray 10, Luke 9 and Ross 4.
MVP Standings: Beau (7.0), Adam (6.5), Phil C (5.0), Murray (5.0), Luke (3.5), Ross (2.5), Jayson (0), Phil S (0). - Luke Hulkamaniacs Poll results: Q: How did you rate the Hulkamaniacs 2004/05 Summer Season? A: 10/10 (2 votes), 9/10 (3 votes), 8/10 (1 vote), 7/10 (1 vote).
