"COLD STEEL"

She was sweet and innocent,
full of life
Eyes that sparkled,
on moonlit nights.
Had many friends,
was smart in school
Never played hooky,
or broke many rules.

On her way home,
she took another way
Never did it cross her mind,
to be afraid.
Then without warning,
lurking in the dark
He grabbed her,
forced her, into a park.

Many found murdered,
kidnapped and bound
Stolen, captured,
sometimes never found.
Too many for this Country,
with freedom as a right
Until a stranger robs you,
to live in constant fright.

How do we teach children,
to keep them safe
To protect them,
in the midst of harms way?
How many more deaths,
graves to be marked
To rid a sick society,
with cold steel for a heart?
