| We got up early nn the morning of March 17th. This was after we had an unfortunate mess-up with our B&B in Galway the prior evening (our credit-card reserved room was given away). After a quick scramble, we found 2 B&B's that could accommodate us. We then left early St. Paddy's Day morning (from Galway to Dublin). Traffic was lite and we were able to make it to our B&B in Dublin, drop off our luggage and head into the City Centre. We, luckily, found a great spot to view the parade - in front of the GPO off of O'Connell Street. The parade MC said that this was the 1st St. Paddy's Day in 13 years that it had not rained. It was near the mid 50's/low 60's that day - close to record-breaking temps. The parade was enjoyable. We headed down O'Connell Street to St. Stephen's Green after the parade. We then went to the Hairy Lemon (an infamous pub named after a local Dubliner whose head resembled a "hairy lemon"). |
