Programs We Support
Camp Nuhop—located in southern Ashland County, Ohio—is a residential summer camp for all children with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders and behavior disorders. What started out as a one-week program years ago with eight counselors serving 27 children has blossomed into a camp that serves 560 children during six weeks, with a waiting list of 50. The camp has grown to 45 staff members and five directors. By combining the joys of childhood with the bond between horse and rider, Helping Hooves Therapeutic Riding, Inc. strives to improve the quality of life for children with life-threatening illnesses and those emotionally at-risk due to today's societal pressures. The Lighthouse The Lighthouse provides shelter, crisis hot line, law enforcement co-response, counseling, and legal advocacy for victims of domestic violence. The Lighthouse provides services to any victim of domestic violence and secondary victims of violent crime, i.e., non-offending family, friends, etc. In addition to the services mentioned above, The Lighthouse also provides group counseling and support services designed to return the survivor of violence to previous levels of functioning.
