[Weightloss Chart]
I have been asked a lot lately how I have lost my weight,
and if I could give some of my tips. There are a few things that I
have done that I think has really helped me in my loss.
- Weigh and measure foods I bought a digital food scale that
uses ounces and grams. I find using grams helps me get a more accurate
weight. And that helps me get a more accurate carb count.
- I use Life Form - a great software
program, Total Personal Health Management Software. It has really
helped me actually see what I was eating, in regards to calories, fat,
carbs, protein.
- I drink a minimum of 80 fl.oz of water per day. Two rules of
thumb:
Half your weight in water or 64oz + 8 oz for every 20-25pounds you
want to lose
- Try to get some sort of exercise at least 3 times per week.
Aerobic and Weight training.
- READ even if you are doing Atkins plan, read as many Low Carb
books as you can get your hands on. I have read Protein Power
and The Schwarzbein Principle along with DANDR.
- Explore the Internet. There are so many pages out there that are LC
related. Check out my Links page for examples.
- Get a good carb counter. The Complete Book of Food Counts
by Corinne T Netzer seems to be one of the best. You need to know the
carb counts for this to work well. Soon, you will know what foods you
can eat to keep your count in range.
- Never feel guilty for what you eat. Since this is a new way
of life/eating, not a diet, you have to make things work what is best for
you. And if that means snacking on something that is not *allowed* (at
least for me) then go ahead, but there maybe some consequences to eating
what ever it was that you did, BUT this is life!! and we have ups and
downs every day. Never beat yourself up over it, It was your choice to
begin with.
**Edit** These TIPS are very old... first compiled around 2000. I will try to
update these, as i'm sure i have more to add.
