When the 1995-6 addition was on the drawing board, one of the first requirements was to move the washer and dryer out of the basement and up to the second floor. This conveniently located room, NOT adjacent to any bedroom, provides ample space to set up an ironing board as well as access to a considerable amount of storage underneath the back staircase. And, just to ensure the sound of wash in the night wouldn't wake us up, we insulated the walls. |
