The author of the following is unknown to me, but the words seem so appropriate:
Historic preservation does far more than save our past. It helps strengthen our communities by sharing and celebrating the experiences that bind us. The most popular cities across America among tourists are those that celebrate their own unique history.
Those cities also have what their residents rate as a superior quality of life.
Good luck on your journey to National Registry status.

I live near Lorane Hwy., and travel it off and on. I love the road and its slow pace. Don't let them change it!

Lorane Hwy. needs preserving. I've lived here since 1982 and have seen the many attempts at changing Lorane Hwy. and don't believe any of them would be an improvement because they would all make drivers want to go faster. The only thing that makes this road work as well as it does is the slow speed you must travel to safely go down or up it.

Francina,
What a wonderful project you have embarked on! Reading your site makes me want to come walk the road with the old maps looking for relic plantings and other treasures right alongside you. I wish you all the best in preserving your very special historic
road.
And when you're ready to add daffodils, I'll be here to help further!
Yours, Scott

We own the old Dawson property at 1020 Lorane. We
support keeping the road as it is. We will build
in 2002 and want to preserve the feel of the area.

Of course Lorane Hwy. should get historical status! What a wonderful, special, peaceful place... That's what a historical status is all about... that feeling you get when you drive, bicycle or walk down it! I've been living on Lorane in the proposed are
since 1981 and wouldn't want to be anywhere else in town!
