The Goodies

The Goodies was a comedy show series which ran for over a decade from 1970 until 1982. The Goodies were Tim Brooke Taylor, Bill Oddie, and Dr Graeme Garden. They all studied at Cambridge university and Bill and Tim also studied at Pembroke College, Tim was on the same course as John Cleese studying law. They were also all members of the highly successful BBC radio show, "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again", which also included John Cleese and Jo Kendall.

The Show

The show centered around different adventures every week some of the various shows included; Bigfoot: The Goodies set off to the Canadian Rockies in search of the mythical Arthur C Clarke, but find all sorts of other weird creatures including the legendary Bigfoot. Snow White 2: The Goodies are kicked out of the Seven Dwarves for being too tall and are lost and unemployed until they attempt to enter the' castle controlled by the princesses.Saturday Night Grease: Tim wants to be king of the disco but is thrown out and then later locked in jail for indulging in mixed dancing; just the gimmick which Bill needs to increase the crowds at his own new disco.
Guest stars included Geoffrey Palmer (Butterflies, As Time Goes by), Jane Asher, David Dimbleby and Richard Briers (The Good Life).

Where are they now?

Since the Goodies ended in 1982, Graeme Garden has been involved in Presenting more recently on 'Beat the Nation' in 2004. Bill oddie these days is involved in Wildlife and Bird conservation and also voiced childrens cartoons such as ' Bananaman' and .'The Willows in Winter'. Tim Brook Taylor has continued to act being seen more recently in BBC2's TLC (the ill fated UK version of scrubs, which was sadly axed after one series) as a mad Reverend and also one of his most famous roles was in the comedy show' Me and My Girl' for ITV back in the mid eighties.
