Welcome to the Booster Club Page!

Officers Booster Club Meetings Join Volunteering

The Lake Mary NJROTC has an active and involved Booster program.  The purpose of the Booster Club is to provide assistance and support to our cadets and the unit.  In the past, our Booster Club members have:

helped with a variety of fundraising efforts, including the Booster Box
(where we sell T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other school spirit items at football games)

supplied many of the necessary "start-up" supplies for new cadets,

chaperoned at away field meet competitions,

helped out with transportation to various other activities,

manned the concessions stand, and provided breakfast for the field judges at LMHS hosted field meets,

and much more...

Officers for the 2005 - 2006 school year are:

President:    Ace Perez EYSTONPEREZ@yahoo.com
Vice President Nancy Nisvoccia
Secretary Karen Skuderin [email protected]
Treasurer Dawn Weaver [email protected]

Booster Club Meetings

Booster Club meetings are open to ALL cadets and parents, and with few exceptions, are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm.  We review Club business, then usually Commander, and/or one of the cadet staff, bring us up to date on what the unit is currently doing.  It's a GREAT way to stay on top of what's going on in the unit (since the cadets don't always remember to tell us!).

Join
: It's easy to join the Booster Club.  All you need to do to be an official Booster Club member is to pay the $25 yearly membership dues (we call them dues, but the money goes strictly to supporting the NJROTC program here at LMHS).  How do you do that?  You have 2 options:

Come to any of the meetings listed below, and give your check to any of the Booster Club officers.  There will be a short form to fill out for things like your name, your cadet's name, your address, phone, e-mail and such.

OR

Print off and fill out the form, and send it (along with your $25 check made out to LMHS NJROTC Booster Club) in with your cadet to give to Commander or Chief.

Want to check us out first? Come to the meetings and see what the Booster Club is all about.

Volunteering: The Booster Club needs volunteers to help with various fund raising efforts, with the field meet LMHS hosts, chaperoning events, and so on.  Requests for help can be made any number of ways: at Booster Club meetings, via e--mail and/or on our News & Updates page.  You can offer to help from the Web page by clicking on any Booster Club officer's e-mail (above).

DID YOU KNOW that almost ANY involvement you have in our ROTC unit can be included in dividend hours?  These hours count towards the school's totals, but also OUR UNIT'S totals as well which helps our Distinguished Unit status. Any of these activities can be entered in as Dividend hours, and you can probably think of more as well:

Attending the Booster Club meetings,
Helping out with the phone calling,
Chaperoning any field meets,
Shopping for and wrapping the holiday gift boxes,
Helping when we host our own LMHS Field Meet,
Working at any of our various fund raisers (car washes, Booster Box, Spaghetti Dinner, etc.),
Updating the Web page (OK that's just me - but you get the idea)

Remember you must first register with the county Dividend program before you can enter your hours.  To register,

  1. go to: http://www.scps.k12.fl.us/community_involvement/index.cfm?fuseaction=div_programs,
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page,
  3. click on "Dividend Volunteer Application".  To get to the form, you will need to sign in with your SSN# and date of birth.

It takes 3 weeks to process your registration (background checks and so on).  Once you clear, you can start entering your time online.  Don't worry that you're losing hours while you're waiting, the site allows you to enter your "back" time.
