So I got married
To many people's surprise, I got married on December 21st, 2002. My husband is my long-time fianc Phil. We had been engaged since January 1st, 2000. (Such a romantic way to start a new millennium!) Our wedding took place in the Lutheran church of Hervanta, which I frequent. We both knew the pastor who performed the ceremony; in fact, we requested his services. It was a very small occasion, only our immediate families attended - and not everyone from Phil's side could attend, of course. I kept my own surname so I'm still Leena Lintil. Music was performed by an organist, Phil, the pastor, Phil's daughter, and my sisters. After the wedding we had a small dinner in a fellowship room. Everything about the wedding was bilingual because Phil is an American.
The scope of the wedding can be described by the fact that Phil prepared all the food for the dinner (minus the extra cake my mother brought), and I stayed afterwards to do the dishes.
Update in Nov 2003
After several hardships, I have finally gained my visa and will be moving to live with my husband sometime in 2004. This extra year in Finland that I did not plan turned out quite well after all; I got a chance to learn contentment and gratefulness in all circumstances, to be in a very entertaining job and to swap some dazzling decos.
