Interior Work:

Wheel Cleaning: Bling Bling

Preparation :
There wasn't much to do in preparing the wheels.  I gathered up some 409 to give the wheels a good cleaning, some fine sandpaper (1600 grit), some clean towels, and Mother's Aluminum Polish.  Make sure it's a sunny day, so you can see the shinyness of the wheels after you are done cleaning them.

The Work :
The wheels were quite dirty when I recieved them, so I took some 409 and cleaned them off as much as I could.  There was a lot of brown-ish stuff all around the wheels, but that came off easily with some good scrubbing.  With the help of my friend, we got rid of the brown stuff on all four wheels in a couple hours time, and went through about 2 1/2 bottles of 409.  There were also a few spots of raised black material on the lip, which I think was some tar.  I took some fine sandpaper and sanded down the tar and got rid of as much as I could without damaging the lips.  It turned out pretty good (see pictures below).  Also, as you can see from the pictures below, the lip around the wheels were quite dull before I cleaned them.  I didn't think Mother's Aluminum Polish would make such an amazing difference after cleaning the wheels with it, so I was pretty happy after I saw how shiny the wheels got.  Using Mother's to clean the wheels were a breeze.  Just follow the directions on the little can of aluminium polish and buff away with a towel.  I spent about two to three hours cleaning all four wheels, and in the end it paid off greatly.  I was too lazy to try the other way of polishing wheels, where you take many grits of sandpaper and sand down the lips to get them to become even more shiny.  Maybe I will try that someday when my wheels get dull again.  Anyways, there wasn't much to do to clean wheels...just takes a strong arm to buff them with some clean towels.  If anyone decides to polish their rims like I did, I would suggust using Mother's Aluminum Polish, as it did wonders.
