Money from licenses

The City Government is expected to collect some P75 to P80 million in revenues out of the business licenses for the year 2003,  according to City Treasurer Soledad L. Li.

The payment of business license depends on the gross income declaration of the preceding year by business operator.  Mrs. Li said that if the gross is low, then the payment also follows.

Treasurer Li is hopeful that the income of the City might surpass that of last year if correct payment is made by the business sector.

The business climate in the city has somewhat been poor due to numerous negative incidents that had happened recently.

She is relying on the  passage of three very important and revenue generating city ordinances by the Sangguniang Panglungsod during the last phase of their regular sessions, City Treasurer Li is optimistic that the City Government might earn a considerable revenue out of the three city ordinances.

The City now has three new city ordinances namely The Traffic Code, the Anti-Smoke Belching and the Sand And Gravel Ordinance.
