They returned to their world, and end up in Yui's house. She gave Miaka the scroll and the baseball bat.
Next day, at school, Miaka was prepared. The thing is... everyone seem to forgot everything that happened. Even Miaka seducing Ren's rumour. They were back being friendly with Miaka. Miaka also noticed that Ren was missing. they day went nicely, but before she leaves, her friend stops her and says: "We forgot to do our after school chore.". Miaka sees on the black board written :"Kill Miaka Yuuki". She started running. The whole school was after her. All students seemed to be possessed , controlled. She has to stop this, and the only way Ren could control everyone is from some where high. The roof!

While Miaka running down the stairs toward where Ren is, she fell, and the students grabs her and took away her watch and gave it to Ren. She sees him crush the watch, her only path to go back into the book and save Taka. She screams in dispair. Suddenly taka appears and pushes Ren off the roof, as he falls the scroll opens up, and injured Ren's left eye. Another beast appeared beside Ren, and both of them disappeared. Miaka is really depressed after the watch has been destroyed by Ren. But she finally gets to go on a trip with Taka alone. When they got off the train, and head to the hotel up the stairs a lady falls and "accidentally kissed Taka.

After that Keisuke appeared. Miaka was surprised, so was Keisuke. The girl was Keisuke's date, Kamishiro Miiru. Both Keisuke and Miaka were hoping to have sometime alone with their date... but it doesn't seem to be happening. Miiru is a very attractive young woman who happens to join Keisuke's history club. Keisuke has never, and i mean never had a grilfriend. Poor guy.

One day as they were going out, Miiru ask Taka to come by her room to discuss about Keisuke that night around 10pm, because she feels uncomfortable with Keisuke and maybe Taka could help her.

So that night when Miaka's taking a shower, Taka figured it wouldn't take a longtime to discuss the matter with Miiru. So he went and tells her that if she like Keisuke she could try going out with him, but if she doesn't like him at all, then forget it. Just when was about to leave, Miiru is on the verge of fainting. So Taka helped her up, and Miiru opens her mouth and bites Taka's ear... she had FANGS!!!!! scary.
At this time Miaka wakes up from her bath. She fell asleep. She decides to check on Taka, but he wasn't there, so she thought maybe but hoping that he's not at Miiru's room. She runs over there, and knock but no one answer, she went to the balcony, and sees Miiru kissing Taka.
She couldn't believe her eyes!
Then she sees Miiru's shadow. It wasn't a human shadow, but looks like a monster, that was when the red light surrounds her. How come? Wasn't the watch destroyed????
Anyway, she got transferred to the books world once again.

This time Tasuki catches Miaka with style. She explained the situation to the Seishis, Tasuki tries to help her feel better... but you know Tasuki's not the best person to do that. He just made Miaka more worried. As they walk down the street of Konan trying to find Nuriko. They were close to Nuriko's home.

Surprise surprise, they see Nuriko walking down the street, they call for him... but.. it wasn't Nuriko but his older brother Rokou. He's taller, different voice, and he's alive! They decide to go over and pray for Nuriko. Ta Da! Nuriko appears out of no where. Ahhhh!!!!!!! ehhee! Nuriko finds a crystal ball sitting at his shrine. It's his favorite ball when he was a kid. They immediatly realized that the stone was in the crystal. Meanwhile we have Taka in the real world... he was naked... and Miiru was doing something on him... she's casting some sort of spell, just when she finished, Keisuke knocked on the door. She plays her innocent, and tells Keisuke that Taka... "raped" her...

Seeing him naked, Keisuke believed Miiru immediatetly, Taka wakes up, not knowing what happened. Keisuke slaps him, and tell him not to touch Miaka anymore. He left with Miiru, and Taka find the magic scroll out side of the room. He knew immediately that Miaka went to the other world. Obviously, he follows. and.. landed on Tasuki...

Although Taka only had his pants on, and he doesn't remember doing anything with Miiru, Miaka believed in him. She saw a bruise on Taka's ear and tries to touch it. Just when they come into contact, Taka felt a tremendous pain. Miiru made a doll with Taka's blood, so he is under her control.. and Miaka will never be able to touch him. That's her way to seperate Miaka and Taka. Miaka immdiately realized that Miiru probably did some curse on Taka. Yet Taka doesn't remember anything.

Rokou offers them to stay overnight. Therefore they decided to take the stone at night without Rokou acknowlegement. Nuriko pass the crystal to Taka... yet once Taka holds the cyrstal in his hand, his body started burning, and he screamed in pain. A monster tries to get out of his body, Chichirr quickly holds it down.

Miiru wanted to use the monster in Taka to take away the stone. Rokou saw everything, and thought they were going to take away the crystal and give it to the monster, he will not allow that. He took the crystal and ran to a shrine. Miaka decides to run after Rokou to ask him for the crystal once again. Tasuki follows. While they were riding on the horse, Tasuki says bad things about Taka, Miaka doesn't want to listen to other people saying bad things about Taka so she jumps off the horse. Tasuki stops and apologizes, and monster appears, Tasuki tries to protect Miaka and was bitten by the monster. There was poison, Tasuki was paralized immediately, Miaka decides to suck out the blood... this gave her the idea on how to save Taka. Therefore they decide to head back to where Taka was. Meanwhile at the shrine Rokou was praying for Nuriko's protection. Seeing that his brother like that, Nuriko got mad and screamed at him. Rokou thought he heard Nuriko. Nuriko decides to use his last resort. He takes Rokou and runs out the shrine.

Midway, Nuriko encounters Tasuki and Miaka and brought them back also.

Miaka successfully sucks out the monster from Taka's bruise, Hotohori destroys it. Obviously Taka suffered a lot of pain when Miaka was making direct contact with him, but Nuriko and Rokou held on to him so he wouldn't move.

TIME'S UP! They came back to their real world, back to Miaka's room. Miaka and Taka was happy that they found 4 stones, suddenly Keisuke rushes in, and Miaka's mother follows, she cried and ask her where she was for the past 2 months... TWO MONTHS! Her mother slaps Taka, and tells him to touch her daughter anymore.

Taka silently left. Keisuke tells Miaka that taka cheated on her. Miaka tries explaning that Miiru was a monster, but Keisuke wouldn't believe her.

That night Miaka calls up Taka, while they were talking, the phone line was cut suddenly. On Taka's side, Miiru appears, with the voodoo dol on her neck. Taka destroys it with his ki. Miiru was surprise that he was able to do that. Miaka runs to Taka's place, and saw his whole appartment explode. And within the explosion.. she saw Tenkou. End of Volume 16
