| Clifton Mill and The River |
This is a mill that is still in
operation near Dayton, Ohio. Clifton Mill is famous for their corn meal. The
best I have ever eaten. We went there regular while we were working there.
Beautiful location and good food. Best breakfast in Ohio served in the restaurant
with fresh ground meal for pancakes and biscuits. They were the greatest and the
pork in Ohio is so much better it must be that the hogs are all corn fed. We bought
corn meal and their special biscuit mix every time we went and we ate a lot of
cornbread and biscuits while there I can tell you. The next picture is of the river
and you can see how fast it rushes by. Seeing that river it is easy to
understand how a gourge could be carved out by that rushing water.
Lake and Waterfalls at Clifton
Gourge
This is a beautiful waterfall that
seems to come from nowhere. The lake is so scenic that photographers gather around
it to try to capture the images from various light reflections at different times of the
day. You can be going along in this country and everything is flat fields and
suddenly come upon a gourge like this one and it seems out of place somehow. From
corn fields to river gourge in a short distance.
Golden Lamb Inn
This is the Golden Lamb Inn.
Ohio's oldest Inn has played host to ten U.S. Presidents and numerous authors and
statesmen. The first picture is the outside of the building. The second is a
picture of the lobby. A very good restaurant and some of the best antiques you
would ever want to see. I had difficulty eating with so many antiques to look
at. The waitresses were dressed in period clothing. It was very educational
and enjoyable. After you eat you can take a tour of the Inn and see all of the
rooms. The third picture is of the Charles Dickens room. The Inn is
located in Lebanon, Ohio. It is halfway between Dayton and Cincinnati off hwys. #71
and #75.
