| Our lives are made up of many
experiences. All of the places we have been. All of the people we have known
have influenced us. Here I would like to share some of our experiences with you. |
Colorado
Crystal River Marble Company
These are the remains of marble we
found in an old marble quarry. Marble was strewn all over the river bed and along
the roads. Because of its poximity to Crystal River and to Crystal City I believe it
would be the Crystal River Marble company. That is where the marble for the tomb of
the unknown soldier and the Liconln Memorial were milled.
Mines in California and Colorado
The first picture is of a mine in the
California high desert and the next one is of a mine in Colorado. We have found some
good rocks around old mines. I also encountered my first rattle snake in the
California high desert. When I saw him it was too late to do anything but stand
still and pray like my life depended on it, which it did. I have read in
books that if you stand still they will not bother you and he didn't but I sure don't
want to test that out again. I know why they call their snakes sidewinders.
They move sideways and you don't know which way they are going.
