Thanks to Emit's showing possible ties between the Watchtower Society and Aleister Crowley, I decided to research the matter. First I was curious who is Aleister Crowly? I discovered the man is held in high esteem by the Freemansons (you know, the people who run Masonic Lodges). The Freemason's official web site has Mr. Crowly's biography. I started reading this biography and appreciated the freedom we have as true Christians as opposed to the slavery to Satan these demonic cults have! Still I was determined to see if a connection existed between Crowley and the Watchtower.
Next in my research, I discovered the terrible truth that the Freemasons glossed over! Seems Mr. Crowley is a Magician and Satanist. Now I was angry at the mere suggestion he is somehow tied to the Watchtower even if in their past (during his life between the 1870's and 1940's). I keep researching away.
I came across a web page that proves Freemasonry is a religion that worships Satan the Devil.
This page is extremely thorough and will help brothers and sisters out in the field ministry to witness to those trapped in the Freemasonry religion. Not only does the page show they twist everything around to where they accuse Jesus Christ of being the "serpent," but it contains some information that I was not prepared for.
The page brings out in reference to some pictures of a winged globe, "However, we are in for a rude shock. Notice that the column on the left not only has a serpent encircling a globe, but notice also that the globe itself has wings. Another source quotes H.G. Wells as saying that the winged globe is "to become the symbol of the New World Order when it overtly rules the world." [Fritz Springmeier, The Watchtower and the Masons , Portland, Oregon, 1992, p. xi] That means the Masonic column on the left depicts the symbol of the final Kingdom of Antichrist, his New World Order! Once again, we have a strong connection between Freemasonry and the coming Kingdom of Antichrist."
I showed this to an elder, who got teary eyed (his glasses even fogged up and he had to remove them to rub his eyes). I asked him what does this mean? He said "they are clever." I asked how? He said they are implying that the organization under the Watchtower Society, which started with the winged globe as its symbol of Christ coming into kingly power in 1914, is really a sign that the organization is the kingdom of the Antichrist. He said that the winged globe on early Watchtower publications during Russell's era always bothered him because of "apostate rumors" that it had demonic origins, but he didn't know the Freemasons believed, and a source quotes H.G. Wells as saying, that the winged globe is "to become the symbol of the New World Order when it overtly rules the world." He is going to research this matter on the internet himself to find information that debunks this outrageous implication.
Does anyone know, was C.T. Russell a Freemason?
In any event, I'm now researching the connection alleged between someone named Greber, who is supposedly one of the scholars on the
New World Translation Committee, and Mr. Crowley. I'm also trying to find proof there was a direct connection between Crowley and the Society, whereas the aforementioned web sites only shows a connection between the Society to Freemasonry
and Crowley to Freemasonry. Additional links on this subject are appreciated. "The plot thickens"! I didn't think the FDS could have any skeletons in their past, and this takes the cake. They're only human according to the elder, but I'm
trying to resolve how Jehovah could use people as his FDS who are so steeped in the very things we as Jehovah's Witnesses have learned are false from the Bible itself?
