I normally don't care for people posting chats and emails here, but I can't resist sharing this gem I cut and pasted from AOL tonight. Here goes.

Prissy1054: Want to talk?
Cygnus97: 'bout what?
Prissy1054: Where ever we left off last time, do you remember?
Prissy1054: Are you saved?
Cygnus97: Um... oh yeah, about that god-thing
Prissy1054: Yep, that God thing...
Prissy1054: Have you thought anymore about what we talked about?
Prissy1054: Hmmmm????

Cygnus97: I have to be honest, I've had about 6 people IM me lately trying to convert me... I can't exactly recall just what our particular conversation was about
Prissy1054: are you interested at all in being saved?
Prissy1054: If not, I can remove you off my buddy list
Cygnus97: If I had any rational basis for believing in it
Cygnus97: Sorry if I come across as crass

Prissy1054: Do you know what the definition of faith is? It is:
Faith is the substance of all things hoped for, BUT the evidence of things not seen" God says, without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Prissy1054: All I want to know is if you are truely searching for what God is all about...if you are, I'm willing to hang in there for the long haul, but if not, I have others that are..deal?
Cygnus97: Yes, I am aware of Hebrews 11:1
Prissy1054: That's good, at least you own a Bible
Cygnus97: Hehe... I own about 30 Bibles
Prissy1054: Really?
Prissy1054: Why so many?
Prissy1054: What was your name again? Mine was Sharon, remember?
Cygnus97: Jason's the name. When I left the Jehovah's Witnesses, I went on a spree to find "the truth" to replace "the truth"

Prissy1054: So what you are telling me, is that you have heard the plan of salvation a hundred times, and because it does not make any sense to you, you are willing to risk your eternity in hell for that reasoning?
Prissy1054: Oh, I see, a bad cult experience, well that will do it to you!
Cygnus97: I don't believe in hell, so it makes little difference to me. That barbarian concept doesn't persuade me to accept any god.
Prissy1054: I know that cult doesn't believe in hell, so I can see that since you have been brain washed with that doctrine, why you see not need for salvation at all, right?
Cygnus97: Actually, my JW "experience' wasn't all that bad.
Prissy1054: Well, the Bible does teach eternal separation from God, and it does teach some sort of judgement, that I for one would not want to have to participate in.
Cygnus97: You have a misconception. I believe that at least the synoptics and the Apocalypse do teach a burning hell. I reject it on purely moral grounds

Prissy1054: Oh, so you have the right to tell God how it is going to be based on your own moral standards???
Prissy1054: What about His Holiness??
Prissy1054: Don't you think He is Just??
Prissy1054: Are you more holy then He?
Cygnus97: I find any god that feels compelled to torture people entirely immoral. Sure, I'm all for a holy, just god. But the god of the Bible hasn't demonstrated himself to be so.
Cygnus97: There are countless atrocities in the Bible
Prissy1054: Yes, and they are all caused from mans sin
Cygnus97: And capitilizing "he" and so forth doesn't score many points with me. :-)
Prissy1054: We are so quick to blame God for all our sins and for all the bad things that happen never taking into account that He doesn't want us to be like that.
Cygnus97: Well, I don't believe in any rational explanation for "sin" as defined by the church
Prissy1054: Well, then, my friend, all i can say is this...Read Ezek 3, and know that my job is done....I like many have tried to warn you, but you in your own pride and wisdom, seem to know what is best for all of the universe as well as mankind...and don't think that God has anything to do with any of it.
Prissy1054: When you stand before Him with your 30 Bibles, and still have made no sense from it all, you will have no one to blame but your foolish pride....
Prissy1054: Don't mean to sound harsh either, but I am speaking the truth.

Cygnus97: Sharon, I admire many principles taught by Christ, even some of what Paul wrote kind of makes sense, but those guys lived and died a long, long time ago, along with many other contemporary seers and philosophers. We know more about the logistics of the universe and life and have pretty much offered rational explanations for most questions. I understand that you feel compelled to threaten me, I used to do the same to people like you who didn't accept the JW message. But I don't believe that any
Prissy1054: He is real, and He is there for those who are seeking Him with their whole hearts.
Cygnus97: ancient semitic sky god is coming to kill or torture me any time soon
Prissy1054: Jesus did say He was coming back, did He not?
Cygnus97: Yep, within the lifespan of his followers (rf Matt 16:28)
Prissy1054: Do you believe that the earth was ever distroyed by a flood?
Cygnus97: compare Matt 24:44 for further verification
Prissy1054: There is another judgement coming
Cygnus97: Of course I don't believe in any global flood. There is zero evidence for one occurring
Prissy1054: Unless you have the blood over the door posts of your heart, you will not see God
Prissy1054: How can you say that???
Cygnus97: How can I say what? No evidence for a global flood? Because there isn't any, geological, biological, or otherwise
Prissy1054: There is all sorts of evidence that this earth was covered with water, not to mention that the Ark has been found and still remains on mount Arat
Cygnus97: ROFL... please. You really need to do some research. Try talkorigins.org for starters
Cygnus97: The very existence of GLACIERS is evidence enough to remove any possibility of a global flood some few thousand years ago
Prissy1054: If you dig in your own back yard, you would probably find rocks with fossils of shells in them, that is of course assuming that you do not already live by the sea. I have found them in my state and we are not near the ocean, so explain that one to me?
Cygnus97: Easy. Life has existed for many millions of years. What you have found are fossils from millions and millions of years ago when the earth was quite different than today.
Prissy1054: Okay, I am through with this talk, I will say a prayer for you, but I will not continue you to argue with you...bye bye..have a good life, for it is the only one you will have..enjoy it for the short time God allows you to have it....
Cygnus97: You bet I will. :-)
