Hi Cyg,
Interesting conversation. I have to say, I know all you very socially aware, logical people don't really go in for this God thing and I also know you have extreme anghst for the Hell doctrine.
You may wonder how an otherwise
reasonable person like myself could buy into such a theory as Hell.
Your sense of justice is refreshing but I must tell you I think Hell is a very difficult place to get into. No I haven't seen the current roster for the place but
surely God can take into consideration how we are all products of our environment.
Unlike your chat buddy there Cygnus, I do not think one must even worship to avoid Hell, no I think it's more what we do with what we're given. Also, many who have done real bad stuff will not suffer such torments, they often pay in advance for such things. I mean look atsome of the murderers I've seen interviewed on death row. Some of the horror stories from their childhoods about abuse make me sick. They don't understand the anger and hurt that's been building in them all their lives. They simply practice a learned behaviour. I'll go to my grave believing such people are not destined for Hell but, upon death, may know peace and tranquility for the first time in their lives.
Closed-mindedness like Sharon's make all who have faith look bad. Then I have to go around and undo the damage. Maybe that's the kind of people Hell is for......those threatening the wrath of God. How dare they be so presumptious.
Take care Cyg, thanks for the post, and believe it or not, you're already saved. Much better off than many just because of your mindset.
Many "Christians" could learn
from you,
Julie
