what is PowerToss?

PowerToss is a simple game. All you need to play is a PowerAde bottle and an opponent. (These things, even, are negotiable. It's not out of the ordinary to play PowerToss without an opponent or with some other type of bottle. Those who have played PowerToss, though, all are in agreement that PowerAde makes the bottles that are the most conducive to good times and a high level of merriment.) To play, you simply toss the bottle of PowerAde (which is slightly-less-than-half full) in the air, making it flip one revolution, and landing right-side-up. That's it! how do you win?

In most games of PowerToss, the winner is the first player to reach five tosses that have landed right-side-up. There are some variations on this theme (profiled below), but the general idea is always the same.

are there any specific rules?

While it is a simple game, there are some fairly specific rules that have been agreed upon by some of the more hardcore PowerToss players. You can read about all of them on the rules page.

okay, so what is MAYhem, anyway?

After an extended period of playing the game of PowerToss, ideas started floating around about a sanctioned tournament to find a true PowerToss Champion. The best way to do this, we figured, would be to organize a schoolwide tournament, following in the footsteps of college basketball's March Madness (because, hey, who doesn't love March Madness?).
