is a barangay on the Island of Leyte in the Eastern Visayas, Central
Philippines. It is situated on the Maharlika Highway, on
the shores of San Pedro Bay between the towns of Tanauan and Tolosa 20 kilometres south of Tacloban, the capital of Leyte Province . See Geography.
The people of Cabuynan are friendly and hospitable in a typical filipino way. They love any excuse for a party during which they will drink copious quantities of tuba and sing along with a guitar, or more likely these days, a karaoke machine.
Cabuynan enjoys a mild oceanic climate which is great if you don't mind the humidity. The sea is clear and never gets cold so the swimming is great any time of year.
The land and water display a rich biodiversity. Fish, rice, rootcrops, bananas, vegetables and fruits abound in the area. See Commerce. The people of Cabuynan are Waray speakers and are predominantly Roman Catholic. See Culture I am an Australian whose wife comes from Cabuynan. I have grown to love the place and the people of Cabuynan after many visits. This site is dedicated to the friendly people of Cabuynan.
