The Worlds of Ravenna Felista is one of the more beautiful and pristine worlds of the CAELESTIS GALACTICA. It is mostly a wilderness planet with a variety of differing landscapes and ecosystems from tall, sylvan pine forests to lonely marshes and scintillating rivers and lakes. Actually, only about 10% of the planet is home to humans; inspite of the untouched beauty of the land, it defies (or at least, greatly resists) human expansion because it is very difficult to traverse to all but those few, intrepid explorers that are comparable to our own Earth's Lewis and Clark, Davey Crockett and others of their ilk. In fact, there is only one city on the planet and it bears the same name: Felista; a beautiful, Victorianesque mecca simliar to 1890's New Orleans, except much larger. There are also sprawling suburbs that splay out from the city, so its total area is quite huge indeed---and this is where ALL of the Felistans live, work, play and die---except of course for those few, intrepid adventurers that make the surrounding untamed wilderness their home.... Felista's main economic engine is lumber (from the obvious lush forests); fishing and steam power (from the many rivers that abound) and the precious silver light (electricity) derived from the steam power that drives the turbines (although, silver light is not widespread throughout Felista, indeed there are areas that are still using candles and gas for lighting---there is a general mistrust of the seemingly unpredictable properties of the silver light). Felista maintains a modest garrison of ground troops for purposes of city defense and urban pacification, but nothing that could really withstand an all out attack from some of the more aggressive worlds. Actually, Felista is somewhat a vacation planet or tourist attraction for the very wealthy and adventuresome and not a likely target for an offensive action, but that does NOT mean Felistans enjoy total sacntuary from such an ocurrence....Felista holds just two seats on the Congressional Senate of Worlds.
