The Worlds of Ravenna One of the smallest planets in the system; but one should not be belied by its small size, for it is also one of the most forboding places. Also known as the planet "Scar" by a collective few, Acerbus is very comparable to Earth's moon in appearance, but somehow "looks" meaner! There is an almost negligible atmosphere on its surface, but the most reknowned feature on this world is the immense crater on the northern hemisphere--taking up nearly the entire planet itself; immense cracks and fissures rivlaing those of our own Martian landscape splay out from the craters perimeter. Those few people that still believe in deities once thought that an ancient god cast out his anger from some celestial temple and it collided with ths world and caused the horrific crater or "scar". Upon approaching Acerbus from thousands of miles, one would notice a long, thin "needle" projecting from the center of this crater; but when the distance is significantly closed, the sheer enormity of this structure comes to bear in a full, almost terrifying reality....it is actually a city, nearly a hundred miles across, but is also built straight up for nearly twice that distance! The people and culture of this spartan world is similar to the militaristic societies of 19th century Russia and Germany. War..what is it good for? EVERYTHING! That could very well be their motto; all facets of life from the highest ranking officer to a petty housewife is militarily driven. Duels are commonplace, children are trained in the use of and carry firearms, war is the driving impetus of this society. This planet's economic engine is of course....war and everything war related, especially the maufacture of weapons; and these weapons are of extremly fine quality and craftsmanship. There has NEVER been ducumentation of any misfirings or malfunctions from weapons or war machines of Acerbun make. Acerbus boasts the finest soldiers in the Caelestis Galactica and they breed some of the most brilliant tacticians and military stratigists unrivaled by nearly any other world. Acerbus maintains THE largest active military force anywhere and above anything else; it is of highest priority to them; immense ground troops, tanks, interplanetary dreadnoughts and endo-atmospheric carpet bombing air ships to name a few of the weapons of war at their disposal. Also, the planet is well defended by orbiting asteroids that house immense weapons batteries that can wipe out any foolhardy atttack force that dares to enter Acerban space without permission. One peculiar moon that orbits Acerbus is called Atrox; it is a penal colony of sorts where the prisoners oddly enough mine the surface for the rare ore that is used to forge the deadly Acerban arsenal. This people's drive and determination has most likely a religious origin, for at the very apex of the city of Belverus is the Holy Citadel--wherein resides the QueenMother B'hörsthellespetella, her daughter Filiadonnia and their attendance of preists; but one of the most formidable forces in the Galactica are the Serran Knights or just the Serran-----Romanesque warriors of absolutley incredible fighting ability and prowess; they descend upon thier opponents with mechanically controlled wings and fight with their only weapon of choice, a long sword of outstanding make, balance, keen blade and brilliant quality (but let it be known that Serran wings are sharp themselves and have been used as deadly shields and slashing surfaces). The Serran Knights are the ultimate holy warriors of the Citadel--the preists, monks and the Serran are collectivley known as the sanctimonialis; these people do not help the Acerban military forces, but take an active role in the "breeding" of the people (for a more detailed look into Acerban society and that of the Sanctimonialis, you are referred to the encyclopedia of the peoples of Ravenna). Acerbus holds an impressive 4 seats in the Congress
