 Rodeo, Shreveport

Thursday, July 15, we went to the Red River Western Festival at Shreveport Fairground.  We saw a lot of cowboys and cowgirls which was really different.  I hadn’t seen anything like this before.

This picture is of the One-Arm Bandit performing with his wild mustangs.  Another performance was put on by some children who were mutton (sheep) busting.  They didn’t stay on very long but it was fun to watch.

This is a picture of one of the barrel racers…at the rodeo, we were sitting within hoof dirt throwing distance, went home with dirt in our hair… lol

Barrel racing is done by women and they had to race around three barrels with the quickest time.  The fastest time was 16.1 seconds.  The last person to race was a younger girl who did pretty good.
