Outside of Natchitoches we drove by many
plantation homes. This is one that we
saw on our way to Melrose. |
When we visited the Melrose Plantation,
we saw a few animals running about there.
Starla took this picture of a squirrel that was around there. Out in the yard was also a pretty peacock.

This is a picture of a plantation home
that we visited on the Cane River near Natchitoches. Black artist Clementine Hunter lived here
until she was in her 90’s. Many of
her paintings are displayed here upstairs in the home.
