The NLD (National League for Democracy) party were promoters of human rights and democracy in Burma. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was General Secretary of the Party. The NLD party was continuously harassed by the military regime, imprisoning leaders of the party and refusing to recognise their win of the 1990 election. NLD still fight for what they believe and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi still seeks supporters for the party.
