Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s major goals were to follow her father’s struggle for liberation in Burma. She tried to achieve this through her gain and use of education, knowledge, writing, and life experience. These experiences embodied her as a symbol of the Burmese people’s struggle for democracy through peaceful protests, public addresses, and courageous and enduring actions in facing a brutal military government.
