| DRAGONBALL Z NEWS 6/21/02 I will get on the other sections of this part of the website as soon as I can, I hope to have a couple of reviews up by Saturday night. I can't get my pictures, so I will have to wait or pull them over on a disk. Below, I have a series summary of Dragonball Z, and a series grade, as I hope to have for all the things I put on my site. SERIES SUMMARY (I wrote this summary so if you have never seen DBZ, you would get an idea on what the series is about.) Dragonball Z is the sequel series to Dragonball. Dragonball Z is about an alien (His race are called Sayians) named Goku and his friends fighting the forcees of evil. They use thier special powers that include flying, moving at super speeds, having super strength, and projecting energy from thier bodies to accomplsh thier goals. Each fighter strides to be the most powerful in the universe, always confronted with an evil greater than themselves. Goku and his friends (or the enemy) use seven magical stones, called Dragonballs, to make any wish they choose (meaning it is possible to bring back the dead, grant immortality, etc.). Hence, the series is called Dragonball. SERIES GRADE: B- Although Dragonball Z is a great show in my mind (not only because of action but also because of length, 281 episodes), it lacks the depth into the characters that other Animes provide. It is all about fighting, with the occasional anoying quest for the Dragonballs. There is alot of comic relief for those of us with good sense of humors. There is alot of powering up that, although very cool looking, can waste alot of time in the episodes, and if you want to see what happens next, you have to sit through it. Dragonball Z is truly an aquired taste, you pretty much either like it or hate it. If you enjoy Karate action with out of this world powers and Villians then DBZ is probably for you. I recommend that you at least watch 10-15 episodes. That gives you a chance to get familiar with the characters, what they can do, and get a grasp on the storyline. |
