I n another incantation of the original 3rd edition of Helsport, and because only two of us showed up, we started a mini-adventure using two Aztec Warrior/Priests who were captured by Orcs and about to be sold into slavery. Miraculously the two escaped, armed only with two obsidian swords, flint and steel, and some long skins to wear. They wandered for a while until they came upon a walled settlement with a few buildings inside a wooden palaside. They scalled the walls and made their way into a large building with lots of heavy machinery ( a factory for GreekFire). After exploring for a while they found, in locked drawers that had to be busted open, 200 small thin metal tubes caped at both ends. They took all of these and then proceded to attack the residents of the fort. They tossed a few of these rods into a fire and boom,the cult of the FireGod was born. The two slaughtered the village and then left and hid from the 100 Armed Calvary that arrived in the morning. The two worked their way down the road for several days until they ran into a small orc scout party. They hid off to the side of the road and found a small path leading to a swamp clearing with a tower and several stone buildings in the middle of a waterway. They found an old skiff and made their way to the island, establishing it as theTemple of Fire at New Chichen Nitza.

	The Little Island of Fire: In the original 1st edition of Helsport, this site was the first founding of the city of Hel's Port. Howeverit was abandoned for one reason or another and the true city of Helsportwas reborn there. In the 3rd Edition this small Island Fortress has been occupied by 3 Aztec Warriors. Yes there are now three warrior/priests on the island. Another day we had three people show up and we worked him into the plot line. In searching through the building the two heros found, a lot of metal weapons,and four levers. While one was searching the other, namedTa-em, was keeping an eye on a large detachmentof Orc troops movingon the road. Anyways when the other Aztec, namedOcatt, pulled the lever a huge flame of greek fire spewed across the water. Needless to say this attrached the passing orcs who sent down a patrol toinvestigate. For many days the warrior heard the orcs at work chopping trees down. On a mission the two left the island to investigate. They foundthat the orcs were building a palaside wall along the road tostop people from advancing towards the south. The two attached several dozen of the metal tubes to arrows and decided to fire several into the burning cauldrons. After several shots and several misses one final exploded, sending the area into chaos. While trying to escape back to the IslandOcatt was captured by the orcs with 10 metal rods. He was beaten and then chained to work the road with the other slaves. In several hoursthe orcs came and wanted to know what the metal tubes were but Ocatt could only speak an Aztec dialect. The DM (Greg) had absolved us of all wrong doing if we agreed to sacrifice all that we meet and couldnot speak to. The orcs left and then there was a huge boom and the camp was thrown into chaos. Ocatt decided it was time to try to escape. Meanwhile Ta-em had discovered two metal tubes joined together that allowed him to see objects from far away. In Ocatts attempt to escape he was brought down until a hail mary shoot fromTa-em from 300 yards away dropped the Orc attacking him. Enter our third Aztec as he is the only one to survive and run back to the island with the orcs in hot pursuit until Ta-em begins firing metal tube laden arrows on fire into the orc horde. The two escape to the island. The new Aztec helps Ta-em by being a spotter and telling him where to fire,where to kill the commanding officers. In one hour three little Aztecs had defeated the OrcCorp of Engineers with over 500 troops who fled in fear and were completely routed. After the battle the three moved the entire baggage train of the army onto the island. In the following 13 days, with no sign of anymore orcsthe three fortified the island using the lumber cut by the orcs to place a palaside around their island. In effect claiming and founding the new Aztec city of New Chichen Nitza!
	However, after those 13 days a force of Orcs did arrived and passed through the area without stopping. When Ocatt went to investigate he was found hours latter tied up. Ta-em and Ocatt began to seach the area and off to one side of New Chichen Nitza they found a grove of bamboo and began harvesting it. They found in that grove a small gold pyramid, they began to dig around it and realized that it was only the tip of a much larger structure! Then strange things started to happen. The three kept on finding banners strung across the compound with strange writing on it that they could not understand. Ta-em being a noble knew how to read and write and began to teach the unseen messanger their language by drawing the pictograph next to items left on the ground in the courtyard. They also began to leave blood offerings for their new messanger. In effect a faiery dragon had appeared! But our characters have not seen it yet.
