2004.09.30 - Thursday
Stress, crap, grumble. Attempting to stay positive in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

Today just seemed to be one large fire drill. Woke early this morning, well before the alarm, and got in almost 90 minutes earlier than usual. Got a considerable number of things done. That didn't last long.

Little niggling things all day, stress, I can feel it in my shouldders, neck and throat. Feels like acid reflux, but it isn't, just all the musculature rebelling in my torso. Probably not enough water.

Still here, late. Looking forward to food and practice. Sending good thoughts to Lunlunta, and thanks for the considerable energy.

2004.09.22 - Wednesday
First day of Fall. Beautiful.

Busy week, many things flying in the air. A significant purchase on the horizon, one that I am not pleased with. Oh, well. Such is life. Waiting for the results of an internal interview last week. May have significant repercussions, including moving.

Back to the Gym this week, focusing on cardiovascular improvement and working large muscle groups (torso, legs, etc.), building a routine - 20 minutes on the bike, torso and lat work, complete the session with 10 minutes on the rowing machine. Working to set a base for numbers on each (heart rate on the bike, number of reps on the torso, reps and weight on the lats, cal/hr on the rowing machine.) The scale at the Gym reads differently than the one at home (significantly to my benefit). Either way, there is less of me. That's not what I'm really going for, actually, it's the CV health and overall body appearance, but I'll take it for the time being.

Continually amazed at the quality and clarity of writing in some of the diaries, particularly the long-time Crafties. Just like the guitar, practice is the answer.

2004.09.01 - Tuesday
Hotel Pretty Damn Nice, Boston

Second full day of a conference, brain near the brim with new information. Thinking about taking some folks to Blue Man tonight. If not, I'll go see the Sweepers at TT the Bears.

Was looking at something in Steve Ball's diary today and it took my breath away (not just the quotes about art, but the drawings on a web site). This one drawing really took me by surprise. Sometimes the simplest things have the greatest impact.
