Policies and Procedures

I have set forth the following requirements for the care of your child.  I hope that you will read through them carefully and let me know if there is any part you do not understand.  If you have any questions please contact me.  I will be happy to discuss them with you.

Enrollment Policy

There are many forms that I must have completed before I can begin caring for your child.  Because these forms are required by the state, there are no exceptions to this policy.  In addition, you are required to keep me informed of any changes to your information.  This includes, but is not limited to, any changes to your address, phone numbers, or any update to childhood immunizations.

Your tuition deposit will be used to secure your child’s place in my child care program.  If your child’s position is accepted but the child does not enter on the agreed upon date, the deposit will be forfeited.

Pick Up and Drop Off Procedure

Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.  I will provide extended child care hours if my schedule permits.  The fee for extended hours will be $5 per half hour per child.  Extended hours must be scheduled and paid for in advance.  Extended hour fees are not pro-rated.

If your child will be dropped off later than usual or picked up early please let me know.  This will allow me to work our activity schedule around so that I do not have to take my attention away from the other children to get your child ready to leave.  Please do not let this discourage you from visiting your child at any time.  Parents are always invited to make unannounced visits.

Your child will only be released to the parent or individuals authorized on the enrollment form.  If someone not listed on the enrollment form needs to pick up your child I must be notified in advance.  I will request to see a photo ID when an unknown, designated person, or new parent comes to pick up your child.  Please prepare those picking up your child for this procedure.

Tuition and Fees

Supplies

You will be responsible for providing the following supplies:

An extra change of clothes (including underwear and socks)
Diapers or Pull-ups
Baby Wipes
Baby Food and Formula

Please do not bring toys for your child.  I have lots of toys for the children to play with while in my care.  You are more than welcome to bring a blanket or stuffed animal for your child to nap with.  I will not be responsible for lost or broken toys that are brought to my home.  We will replenish our preschool supplies in September.  I will provide you with a short list of supplies and it will be your responsibility to purchase those supplies for your child.

Sleep Position

In order to reduce the risk of SIDS, infants will always be placed on their backs to sleep.

Emergency, Illness, and Medication Policy

Snowy Day Policy

Our center will close any time that the Moore Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Meals and Snacks

I will provide breakfast, lunch, and one snack per day.  Please click on the link for more information on our meals and snacks, including the CACFP program, meal times, and menus.  Please let me know if your child is allergic to any foods.  Please do not bring food for your child unless there is enough for everyone to share.  The exception to this will be if your child is on a special diet.

Because our center participates in a federally funded food program, we must follow very strict guidelines.  As part of the guidelines we have designated meal times.  If your child will be arriving after the start of our designated meal time, please make sure that they eat before they come.  If you need a current meal schedule please let me know.

Nap Time

If there is a special blanket or stuffed animal your child uses for nap time you are welcome to bring it.  If your child has given up naps, we will still have a rest time.

Please do not drop off or pick up your child during nap time.  It is very disruptive to the other children.

Discipline

I will first use positive guidance methods with your child such as listening, reinforcement, and re-direction.  Some situations may require a “time-out”, however, I will use these only when necessary and only long enough for your child to regain control of his or her emotions.

All children will bite, kick, hit, scratch or something similar at one time or another.  We, as adults, need to keep our wits and sense of humor—children survive such incidents much better than we do!

Conferences

Once a year I will plan a conference with you to discuss your child’s likes, interests, and development.  If you have any questions or comments please feel free to come to me.  I will be happy to schedule a conference at any time.

Birthdays and Celebrations

Parent Involvement

Holidays and Vacations

Substitute Care

I will have a substitute caregiver care for the children if I have an appointment during business hours.  For my vacation days or on the rare occasions that I am ill, I will try (if needed) to help you find alternate care; however, the ultimate responsibility will be yours.

Activities

Termination of Services

I will require a minimum of three weeks notice if you decide to make other arrangements for your child’s care.  If you decide not to bring your child to my home after you have given notice, you will still be obligated to pay for two weeks of care, with your deposit covering the third week.  If I feel that another child care setting would be better for your child, I will also grant you the courtesy of a minimum of three weeks notice.  The only exception will be if you have failed to pay your child’s tuition.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss any of these policies.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child!
