The Castle
Quick - when your hear the word "Castle", which castle do you think of?
Baron Frankenstein?
Dracula?
Rocky Horror?
Neuschwanstein?
Casa Loma?
Hearst?
One chilly winter day while camping out in front of the fireplace reading Melvin Peak's Goremenghast,
I was consumed with the urge to create my own castle and write down all kinds of ideas and histories
and thoughts about that castle and it's citizens.
What follow on the next several pages are some of those (copyrighted) writings.
It has been a fun and interesting experience, unlike some of the other writing of stories I have done.
The structure of the castle grew slowly, rooms forming first, and only later strung together
as a coherent floorplan with intertwined stories.
Some castle pages I have come across:

Hearst Castle
Winchester Mansion
Castles of the World
Castle Frankenstein
Casa Loma
Casa Loma II

Side Note:
Frankenstein's castle in Darmstadt, Germany is the birthplace of the German
alchemist Johann Konrad Dippel von Frankenstein, whom many say inspired Mary
Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein. Dippel, who lived from 1673 to 1734, was notorious for his interest in creating artificial life and rumoured to have experimented with human body
parts - themes later explored by mad scientist Victor Frankenstein in Shelley's gothic romance.
