Edwin Adolph Vensland
Edwin Vensland was the son of Torgus and Sofie. He was born July 18, 1916. He grew up in Big Woods Township in
Minnesota. After his father died, Edwin and his brother's worked for neighbors to support the family. In 1936
during the Great Depression,
Edwin and Gilbert went west to Yakama Valley, WA. They worked for three months picking hops and milking cows for a local farmer, sending as much as they could home to their family.
After returning to Minnesota, he married Irene Goulet from Argyle, MN and moved to Davenport, Iowa. His children are Roger Edwin Vensland of Davenport and
Valerie Vensland Weed of Bradenton, FL. Roger married Janice Conger and had Kent (that's me) and Kathryn.
Irene and Edwin divorced and he later married Shirley Swift.
He worked as a mechanic. He lived in Davenport until his death in April of 1986.
