Ole Martin Vensland
Ole Martin Vensland was the oldest son of Thor and Berthe. He was born
December 2, 1874 in Norway and christened OLE MARTHIN TORESEN* on December 27, 1874. He was naturalized March 13, 1901 in Marshall County. His occupation was listed as machinist on the 1900
census record. Gilbert Vensland related to us that he remembered that Ole Martin ran trains
and worked as a lumberjack, as well. He purchased a land patent in February of 1910 in Lake of the Woods
County (then Beltrami township 159 range 30) a logging community. He did
not marry, as far as I know. His brother Andrew was living with him at the time of the 1910 census. I do not
have a date of death, but another realtive reported that he was buried at
Baudette, MN.
