Severin Theodore Vensland Family
Severin (Severt) was the second child of Thor and Berthe. He was born
September 5, 1877 in Vennesla, Norway. He was naturalized in the US on March 13, 1901 with
the name Syvrin Vensland. He built the house shown below on
the family land in Minnesota. Around 1904, he married Ida Mathhilda Sjöstrom, born March 7, 1885 in Dorotea, Vösterbotten, Sweden.
They had six children. Nettie and Edna, born on the homestead in Minnesota according to the 1910 census,
Stanley, Hildur, Viola and Emil Peter who was born in Kandahar, Saskatchewan, Canada. Kandahar is on the Big Quill Lake. He died in October of 1951.
