18th Founding Day: 2008 - Krishnamurthy Institute of Algology celebrated its Eighteenth Founding Day on 20th September, 2008. In this connection, a two-day National Level Symposium was organized on 20thand 21slSeptember, 2008, in collaboration with the Department of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology, Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai - 600 030. The focal theme of the symposium was "Algae in Agriculture and Food Industry"


INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PHYCOLOGY IN 2009: KIA will be holding an international symposium on " Algal Biomass- Resource Potentials and utilization" during July 2009 in collaboration with Vivekananda Institute of Algology (VIAT), Seaweed Research and Utilization Association (SRUA) and other organizations.Click here for Second Circular and registration form

Certificate course on Algal Products

Krishramurthy Institute of Algology conducts an eight week Certificate course on Algal Products; The course will give hands-on training in the manufacture of various products from a1gae and will include field trips and visits to algae-based industries.
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission should have degree in Botany or Chemistry. Admission will be restricted to eight.
The fee for the entire course is Rs. 8000/- and should be paid on admission.
Tne Institute has no hostel facility and candidates will have to make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging.
Applications may be submitted in writing on plain paper.
