National Symposium on Algae and Environment was jointly organized by Unit of Algal Physiology and Biotechnology, RKM Vivekananda College, Chennai and Krishnamurthy Institute of Algology, Chennai at Obul Reddy Auditorium, RKM Vivekananda College. |
Programme : The programme started with Benediction by Swami Satyapriyananda, Secretary, RKM Vivekananda College followed by welcome address by Dr V V Subramanian, Principal of the college. Presidential address was given by Dr V N Raja Rao, President KIA. Prof V Krishnamurthy, Founder Director of KIA, introduced the Chief Guest and read the citation followed by presentation of medal to Prof ERS Talpasayi by Swami Satyapriyananda. Felecitations were given by Prof M Umamaheswara Rao, Dr PSN Rao and Dr L V Venkataraman |
Paper sessions followed the inaugural function where about 25 research papers were presented by researchers from all over the country on various aspects of algae and environment including ecology, physiology, taxonomy and phycoremediation. |
