Scout Dangers
       It will not take many thumper missiles for any player to realize how noteworthy they are.  These missiles have the weakest locking system in the game a range worth nothing for how slowly these missiles maneuver.  However, your enemy pilots will not be using these nuisances against you as a sniper utiliy.  Instead, you will be faced by a thumper missile at a maximum of approximately 100 meters.  You have to realize, no matter how basic their locking system and how lethal 41 hit points in damage is, the impact is the real danger hidden in this weapon.  At close range it is difficult to shake a well aimed thumper, which is why you always need to be moving in case your opponent is packing these missiles.  On impact, the explosion will send your crosshairs pointing down, up, left, right, backwards, or anywhere but at you opponent.  This leaves your already disadvantaged scout open for the killing.  Yet, aside from close range shots, do not worry about the thumper missile.  The only threat these missiles pose out of a dogfight is to a stalled out scout.

       With the longest range of a weapon in the game, the hunter missile can be either fatal or harmless to the scout.  As the primary (and only) weapon to the missile launcher, it is a common strategy for a scout to team up with a tank to not only base kill but protect a tank from an over abundance of missile launchers in the enemy base.  The repair beam is the "anti-hunter" which is why the hunter missile can also be harmless.  However, with full homing this missile can be shot from anywhere and  unless you destroy it or avoid it by getting behind a hill or landform or by holding "w" and "d" or "a".  (Note: This will move you in a diagonal line, yet you must make sure you are moving towards the target missile or missile group.)  A common strategy for a tank is to come at a scout (or tabk for that matter) and with a hill between the two of you they will fire one to six missiles over the hill at you.  The point of this is full distraction, the hunters hits are only a bonus.  Be sure to always have your finger hovering over the "i" key just in case this strategy is tried on you.  It is also suggested that you check out the keymap section of this site in case the enemy fires the hunters, comes over the hill, and fires piercers and/or thumper missiles at you while your attention is divided.
Eliminate these threats fast...
