| IDE KONSERVASI Ide konservasi sebagai sebuah usaha mengabadikan identitas Kotagede dan untuk mempertahankan terus Kotagede dengan memperhatikan akibat-akibat budaya yang khusus, menampilkan suasana khusus. Apa saja yang telah membosankan orang-orang Kotagede, menjadi sebuah gagasan untuk menciptakan tempat ideal bagi aktifitas masyarakat. Ide-ide konservasi dengan program kegiatan penyadaran membuat masyarakat menyadari bahwa Kotagede memiliki karakter khusus, identitas, keunikan, kekhasan, di samping kesadaran masyarakat bahwa Kotagede terlibat dalam sejarah panjang tradisi Jawa. Hal itulah yang merupakan relevansi pengertian sistem nilai sebelum menawarakan ide konservasi. Pada waktu Kotagede ditemukan, Kotagede memiliki ide kosmologis Jawa Islam , meskipun saat sekarang kesan dari konservasi Kotagede bukan dasar dari ide tersebut. Hal itu tidak salah, karena suatu hal alamiah bahwa perubahan waktu diikuti dengan perubahan sistem nilai. Masalahnya adalah bagaimana untuk melindungi dan menumbuhkan nilai positif sehingga hal itu memberikan karakter yang fundamental bagi Kotagede. Hal itu merupakan alasan untuk melindungi Kotagede dalam imagenya sendiri sebagai sebuah wilayah budaya dengan karakter uniknya. Kami menyadari latar belakang keputusan moral penemu Kotagede di masa lampau, ketika mereka memilih, menunjukkan perubahan dan perlindungan Kotagede yang didasarkan pada budaya dan identitasnya, sehingga tidak akan ada perubahan yang merusak. Usaha konservasi harus tidak mengabaikan pandangan terhadap bangunan dan tumbuhan tradisional. Di sisi lain, perlindungan tersebut tidak boleh menghambat kreatifitas. Konservasi Kotagede tidak hanya berarti perlindungan hal-hal fisik tetapi tuga perlindungan lingkungan karakter tradisional Kotagede. Konservasi Kotagede tidak hanya konservasi untuk obyek yang telah ada dan obyek yang tidak merubah fungsi sebagai sebuah usaha untuk melindungi bentuk asli. Konservasi Kotagede juga melindungi obyek-obyek yang tidak tampak sekarang tetapi memilik image tradisional pada bangunan, rumah dan perencanaan kota yang akan diatur dan dibangun. Tentu saja kami harus mencegah usaha untuk membuat Kotagede hanya sebagai obyek konservasi tanpa arti. Usaha untuk melindungi Kotagede harus melibatkan masyarakat Kotagede untuk membuat ide-ide, setiap keputusan aktual ide lingkunga buatan sebagai bagian dari ruang aktifitas manusia di masa lampau memiliki perencanaan prinsip yang sama dengan sekarang. Keduanya berbeda dalam cara penyampaiannya, tergantung pada perubahan kebutuhan fisik dan spiritual. THE IDEA OF CONSERVATION As an effort everlasting the identity of Kotagede and to maintain of Kotagede, along with paying attention to the special culture consequent, have present the new atmosphere. Anything that already bore to the people of Kotagede, becomes an order space idea of ideal place to the people�s activity. The ideas of conservation by awarness program activites make the people realize that Kotagede have special characteristic, identity, unique, peculiarity . Besides that, people realize those Kotagede have being involve in the long history of Javanese tradition. That is the relevance understanding the value system before offering the idea of conservation. At the time Kotagede founded, Kotagede has the Islmic Javanese cosmological idea, although right now the image of conservation of Kotagede is not base on the idea. It is not wrong. It is natural that the changing of time followed by the changing of value system. The problem is how to protect and grow the positive value, so that it gives a fundamental characteristic of Kotagede. It is the reason to protect Kotagede in its own image as a cultural area, with his unique characteristic. We should understand of background of moral decision the Kotagede founder in the past, when they are choosing, planning, arranging the physical aspect of Kotagede. The understanding will lead the changing and the protection of Kotagede based on its culture and identity, so that there will no destructive change. The effort of conservation sould not ignore the preservations of buildings and the tradtional environment plants. On the other hand, preservation itself should not halte creativity. Conservation of Kotagede does not mean only the protection of physical things but also the protection of environment, characteristics of traditional Kotagede. The conservation of Kotagede is not only conservation of the objects that have already been there and of the objects that do not change the functions of the effort to preserve the original form. Conservation of Kotagede also preserve the objects that do not exist yet but have tradtional images on buildings, houses, and city plan that be arranged and built. Of course, we have to prevent an effort to make Kotagede just as an object of conservation without meaning. Any efforts to preserve Kotagede have to involve the people of Kotagede in making idea designing and actual decision. Artifical environments as a part of space of human activity in the past has the same principle with nowdays.
