Free Cataract Operation Camps (with IOL implant) :
Kota Eye research Centre Society ( KERCS) conducts Free Cataract Operation Camps (with IOL implant) in association with District Blindness Control Society (DBCS), HelpAge India and other NGOs, like - Rotary Club, Lions Club, Innerwheel Club, Sindhu Social Circle etc. These camps are organised in Kota, Bundi, Baran, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar and nearby districts. About 2-3 camps are organised per month.
Camp Operations constitute approximately 45% of the total operations being performed by Kota Eye Hospital & Research Foundation. The same quality of care and treatment are provided to the camp patients as being provided to the paying patients. The evidence of this fact is that almost 90% Cataract Operations in the camps are performed by Phaco-Emulsification Technique with Intra Ocular Lens implant.
Kota Eye Research Centre Society has been blessed by HelpAge India (an International NGO) through their support to the society for conducting Free Cataract Operation Camps. Society has completed two projects of 500 IOL Surgeries each for HelpAge India and the third project of 500 IOL Surgeries is in progress.
