Fantastic win last night, with Heskey always proving me wrong when I gave up on him. Our 2 new boys, Bruno and Diao scored. What good buys
by GH! Hyppia scored his first goal of the season and lets hope that he continue
scoring in the league so I can get extra points from my football game (link: www.idreamfootball.com). If you are interested, you
can join our league at Batu Pahar Div. Four Football
League.
Liverpool vs Chelsea. Over the past few seasons (10 or more? Can't remember the exact number), Liverpool has not lost at home to Chelsea.
The same can be said at Stamford Bridge, which if I don't remember wrongly, Liverpool last won there in 1988 when Dalglish scored the winning
goal to win the league. Let us hope our home and current form continued against Chelsea.
Form guide:
Liverpool * Has scored 8 goals in the last 2 games without any reply. Has the defence woken up or is the opposition too weak? I hope it's
the former. Hyppia hasn't look as solid in previous seasons, probably due to Henchoz being in and out of the team due to injury. Carragher
just came back from injury but is slowing gaining his form. Who will play at
leftback? Riise is my bet as GH would stick to his winning team. Frankly, I would like to see Vignal at that position with Riise at left
midfield as this combination did very well last season until Vignal got injured. Guess Vignal didn't do well in the pre-season (was given the
run-around by Figo in the Centenary Tournament in Real Madrid) and thus Traore was preferred in the early season. We do need a strong and
stable defence to fend off Zola, Zenden, Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen!
Stevie G, read that he did so well last night that he got kicked around by the Spartak defenders and hence got replaced by Diao. Will need him this
weekend and Murphy who created 2 goals. Hamann will get the other spot and left midfield? Heskey or Cheyrou? Probably Cheyrou will get the vote as GH
will likely to continue to use Heskey and Owen upfront.
Chelsea * lost last weekend shockingly to West Ham. What can you say about Di Canio? Goal of the season so far! Chelsea will look to bounce
back from the defeat at Anfield, but they have to first overcome the Vikings of Norway. Will Chelsea be made to pay for conceding a last
minute goal at home to the Norwegians 2 weeks ago? I hope not as I still wish Chelsea to continue in the competition.
Sticking my neck out: I am going for a 2-0 victory to my favourite pools with Owen scoring both goals!
Have a nice weekend!
