Greetings everyone, I hope you
all had a wonderful summer and are ready to head back to the school
year and back to the club again!!! For those of you who missed the
events of last month we actually had 4 seperate breakfasts
:) Yum! Please note, in the fall my schedule at the
University will not give me the chance to go to breakfast until
December but we will schedule one or two eve events and we plan to have
a group go to the Grand Rounds Bike Tour event!
As the summer comes to a close, we hope to see you all back in
class--remember, exercise is a wonderful stressbuster!!!

Information!!! 
*A recent study by Dr. Kenneth B.
Schectman of over 1700 aging adults found that exercise
significantly improved their emotional health. .... Come to aerobics to
destress with us!!!!
*An ACE publicized article featuring a Wake Forest study (originaly in
the 2000 Journal of American Geriatrics) found that older adults who
participated in aerobic exercise / aerobic walking or weight lifting
significantly improved their postural stability. Within our group
fitness classes you will notice we incorporate a fair amount of
training for the CORE. It is vital that core muscles that support the
spine and pelvis are strong and balanced in order to maximize postural
stability and function.
*Over the past few years, the American Council on Exercise has
published a
fair amount of information on healthy nutrition. A featured
study demonstrated the importance of eating breakfast in order to
maintain weight loss and maintain healthy weights. Researchers of
the study done at the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of
Colorado, suggested that breakfast not only provides vital nutrition
and calories, but may serve to stave off hunger and excessive eating
later in the day.
*Last month's Experience Life magazine
had some interesting information related to experiencing the fun and
humor in life. Some of the key suggestions included:
Stay open to the mement and the positive elements of
the situation
See "fun" as a priority
Convince yourself you deserve fun
Smile- it helps reduce stress levels
Schedule some time for youreslf
Consider the company you keep- positive people help
positive attitudes!
