Marynette Lovejoy Scholarship 
 
Soror Marynette Bonner Lovejoy

The Kappa Iota Zeta chapter sponsors a scholarship in memory of chapter charter member Soror Marynette Bonner Lovejoy 

Soror Lovejoy attended Booker T. Washington High School and Tuskegee Institute. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Morris Brown College and Atlanta University respectively. The noted librarian was honored in 1970 as "Educator of the Year" for Dekalb County.  

Soror Lovejoy was an active member of the sorority for more than 50 years, and is a member of the Zeta Hall of Fame. She served as the State Director and Regional Director of the Zeta Amicae from 1980-1992. She passed on February 8, 1998, but leaves a legacy of community service and a commitment to education. 

Scholarship winners Dark, McGuire and Jacobs

The recipients of the 2001 Marynette B. Lovejoy Scholarship were Devita L. Jacobs of Westlake High School; Krystle J. McGuire of Frederick Douglass High School; Soror Willisha Davidson of Fort Valley State University; and Soror Aila Dakue Dark of Georgia State University.
